Avenue House is an excellent care home offering residential, dementia and nursing care for the elderly, on the outskirts of Rushden in Northamptonshire.

We provide individual, person-centred care of the highest possible quality for all our residents, providing both short-term and long-term residential care for the elderly and those living with dementia. We also provide respite care for elderly people to give their carers a break.

Over the past 15 years we have been dedicated to providing a safe, secure and caring environment for all our residents. The property was originally three large, detached residences which have been joined together, extended and modernised to provide superb living accommodation.

Avenue House frontage

There are four beautiful communal reception rooms, with one having a well stocked library, and another providing a tea and coffee making area for residents to host their friends and family. The home has three gardens for all the residents to enjoy and many of the rooms look out onto one of these gardens.

Our friendly and experienced team deliver superior quality residential care to our elderly occupants – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To see more details about our accommodation, check out Avenue House Nursing & Care Home Features.

As an independent care home, we accommodate privately funded and socially funded elderly residents. All our residents are respectfully looked after, with specific attention to their individual care needs.  To learn more about funding an elderly care home stay, take a look at our Residential Care Home Fees.

Our passion is to provide the highest quality, dignified, residential care for all our elderly residents giving comfort and friendship within a homely atmosphere. Our door is always open and we welcome all residents, their families and friends, who wish to be involved in making the home an even better place to live. We believe that it is of the utmost importance that the individual needs, wishes and choices of our elderly care residents are always upheld and respected.

Avenue House is part of the Jasmine Healthcare Ltd group, the management of which make regular visits to the Home to ensure our high standards are maintained. You can read more about us, our other elderly care homes, and Jasmine’s Mission, Objectives and Values on our About Jasmine page.

Warm and Comforting

We are completely dedicated to providing a safe, warm and comforting environment for all our elderly residents. We recognise that entering a residential care home can be difficult for all concerned and we try to make the transition as easy as possible by offering any support and assistance we can. Our elderly residential care services ensure the moving in process is as smooth as possible.

Safe and Caring

The success of our home is based on our wonderful care team.  Thanks to them, we have a very happy home and happy residents.  All our residential care team are highly trained with regular refresher training, and training in the latest best practice, skills and knowledge.  We are extremely proud to be leading the care industry with well over half our Team having an NVQ (or equivalent) qualification and many more studying for one.  Our new team members receive thorough formal inductions and more personal support from their New Starter Champions.

As a result of this ongoing investment in our team and our home, we have consistently achieved Good ratings from the Regulator of health and social care services, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Click here to see the detailed report.

We also consistently receive high ratings on the leading care home review site www.carehome.co.uk.  Click here to see all our reviews. We value all feedback and particularly appreciate the reviews on www.carehome.co.uk as we know they go to great lengths to verify all reviews are genuine reviews.

This week is Dementia Awareness week 💚

To help raise awareness of dementia, we'll be sharing information throughout the week about what dementia is, how to spot signs of dementia, the role person centred care plays in dementia care, and where to find support - including at Jasmine!

A huge thank you to our very own Care Assistant, Lyle Colyn, who put together this vital information as he continues to be a fantastic advocate for dementia care.

What is Person-Centred Care? 🤔

Person-Centred Care is about focusing care on the needs of the individual. To provide the best care, our care teams at Jasmine always make sure that people's preferences, needs and values guide the care that is provided, and that their care is always respectful of and responsive to them.

Person-Centred Care includes:

One-to-Ones: Discussions with care providers (usually over a cup of tea!) to understand the history, lifestyle, and preferences of the person receiving care. This could range from their favourite hobbies to the food they dislike!

Personal Care Plans: Care plans outline the care and support an individual needs to maintain their health, well-being, and daily functioning. For dementia patients, personalised care plans will be built around the care and support a person needs, with the family, carers and the individual themselves involved in putting together the plan.

Activities: Our Activities Coordinators across all our homes put together a weekly activity scheduled tailored to the needs of our residents, including those with dementia. A wide range of activities ensures all residents' need are met and everyone can get involved if they choose.

For support or advice on respite or residential care, our team would be happy to speak with you! Call the team on 01933 358455 or email avenuehouse@jasminehealthcare.co.uk
